I wish my man, Chris Cornell, didn't ever leave Soundgarden. I really miss that band. They were so bad-ass, yo. I remember meeting them before I really knew who they were. They were in town to open for Skid Row or someone when 'Louder Than Love' had come out. The girlfriend I had at the time was into them, as was my friend, Mookie (he eventually sold me on them by saying they kinda sounded like Led Zeppelin. He knew that was an easy way to get me to listen. I'm glad I did.)
I never saw them play, perhaps I will get the chance one day.

I put together a bed of blended instrumentals; mostly loops. Then I overdubbed scratch tracks, so as to give the mix a bit of a narrative. I felt the need to work on my scratching a bit and it's a great way to work out whatever is on my mind and in my hands.
I put everything into the Music. I guess that is what this mix is about. Even when you don't see me posting mixes or talking about Songs, believe that I am working on the Music. Every day, I do something to better myself as a Artist. Every day, I am reading, writing, creating, or listening to something or someone that will make me better at what I do.
There's no playlist...the entire mix consists of breakbeats, loops, scratching, and blending; the essentials. It's my first attempt at something like this. I hope you enjoy it. I know I feel better. I've had a playlist in my iTunes called 'Pimps, Players, Private Eyes, and Hustlers' for a long time. It's kinda set up like these mixes, where the interludes would play and you can kinda set a scene. I just LOVE the way a lotta these records were recorded, too. They always sound right to me, even when they are somewhat iffy/dodgy quality-wise (I ain't mad at ya, Dolemite; I have wanted that soundtrack ever since the first time I saw that film.)

I like big bass and I cannot lie. Not all that bass you hear coming from kids driving down the street...I mean, 'Boomp buh buh boomp buh boomp boom' bass. "Wiiiiiind me UP-ah!" bass. My Dad taught me the diffrerence between it and the guitar.
All these songs just sound 'plump' to me. They all sound like you would naturally hum the bassline/keyboard-line. Keytars and stuff. YEAH. And most of them counter that with a big ol FAT slappin' snare. 'Roller Skating Jams', man...and a little of my own idea of what 'PhatFat' is.
